The Story Behind Garden Gate Teas

After getting out of the Navy in 2005, Rebecca (Beka) discovered a love for herbs, health and wellness for herself and others while attending an international women's herbal conference with her mother, Marcia. Since then, Beka has focused her education on herbs, essential oils, health and wellness. She has an Associate of Applied Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine focused on Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy. She has a diploma in Herbal Studies Master Herbalist and a diploma in Aromatherapy Master Aromatherapist. Additionally, Beka has an Associate of Applied Science in Health and Wellness. Beka has also written many articles for Herb Quarterly magazine. She is married to Jonathan (Jon), and is a proud Police Wife. She is also a mom of one.

Marcia Nickerson (Mom) has over 20 years of experience cultivating, mixing, and selling herbs. She is a certified herbalist through Artemisia Botanicals in Salem, MA. Marcia crafts handmade cards and fairy creations, and brings the love and creativity to every package of tea and herbal tisane. She loves being in the garden first thing every morning, and has the green thumb needed when growing fresh herbs. Together, as experienced herbalists, Beka and Marcia bring the knowledge necessary to produce the very finest of herbal blends.

Jon is an Army Combat Veteran, a Police Officer, and outdoor enthusiast. He has always focused on mentoring and leading others towards paths of success. His guidance has led others to respect, trust and confide in him throughout the years. When Jon met Beka, he learned a whole new respect for herbs and teas, and has developed a passion to share them with others. His love for nature has led to hikes with Beka in which they enjoy seeing many herbs and mushrooms growing out in the wild in multiple habitats.
